3 weeks away from UFC 103

Posted by Edgar Garcia On August - 30 - 2009

I am still in Phoenix assisting with Efrain’s camp. This has been the first week of training with a working AC (thanks Jason) and just in time for the 120 degree weather. I was starting to think that Jason was intentionally keeping me hot so I would be weak for min and Jason’s sparring session. Don’t think I forgot Jason……

Anyway, it is now officially business time. We go to bed early, wake up early, train twice a day, eat healthy and just hang out. Training has been good for Efrain, as for me waking up at 830 isn’t my favorite thing to do. We have been working his stand up and his jiu jitsu everyday. He strength and conditioning is coming, he starting to look fight ready.

I am still waiting to here when my next fight will be but I am growing anxious.

Training to Acid Rock

Posted by Chris Camozzi On August - 25 - 2009

Whats up MTX fans. Still no set fight for me yet but been keeping busy. As a fighter even when you dont have something lined up for yourself someone else in the gym usually does, so were always training and helping each other. Lately im just trying to help Chase Hackett out as much as possible for his sept 12th fight.

Im about a week in, to taking the supplements from Brawl Nutrition and I still really like them. I changed it up a little. I started taking half a serving of the RELOAD before I train and work out, then a full serving after training. It makes a difference. It helps my muscles recover quicker from lifting, training, running and all the other wear and tear that comes with the job. Alongside the RELOAD, I take the RUSH capsules about 30mins before I hit the gym. They really get me wired to lift and train. Since Ive started taking them Ive been able to push out a few more rounds of sparring and a few more reps while lifting. RUSH is probably my favorite part of the stack. Training and working out everyday gets tiring and sometimes I need that extra burst of energy to get into the gym. Finally I take the REACTOR N.O. pills when I wake up and it really keeps my hunger down throughout the day and helps with recovery as well.

I added some pictures from our Saturday training session at LA Boxing. Me, Chase and Jermy are starting up a training session where we are inviting some guys from other gyms to come in and work out on Saturdays. In the end it helps all of us because you get a look at different styles of training.

So finally aside from training me my girl and some friends went to the Def Lepord and Poison concert last night. Ya you heard that right, I went. Im more into hip hop but it was still fun to go to. Check out my pictures, I posted a few from the concert.

Seth “The Silverback” Petruzelli Chooses Brawl Nutrition

Posted by TeamBrawl On August - 19 - 2009

seth_p-02Team Brawl and Brawl Nutrition, the premier MMA supplement for Elite Professional Fighters, is proud to announce that Seth “The Silverback” Petruzelli (also known as the “Kimbo Killer”) has made the switch to Brawl Nutrition.  Seth was so impressed with the results he was seeing that he introduced the line to his gym in Florida, the Jungle MMA.

Seth’s Bio: Petruzelli was a member of the cast of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s The Ultimate Fighter 2 as a heavyweight. He was eliminated in the semi-finals by Brad Imes after having defeated Dan Christison by unanimous decision in an elimination bout.

On October 4, 2008, at EliteXC: Heat, he defeated Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds by TKO. He was offered the fight as a stand-in after Ken Shamrock received a cut over his left eye in pre-fight practice and was forced to back out. After the win, Seth opened his own MMA gym in Orlando, Florida called “The Jungle” on East Colonial Drive. It contains a regulation-size octagon, huge matted-floor space for training and current and former UFC fighters will be teaching the classes for members.

On August 22, 2009 Seth fought in the Art Of Fighting 4 at the USF Sundome where he knocked out Chris Batten in under 2 minutes of the first round. Congratulations Seth and we look forward to your next fight!

Brawlin with me

Posted by Chris Camozzi On August - 18 - 2009

I just recently recieved some supplements from Brawl Nutrition. Im going to try them out while I up my training. First and foremost, thanks Brawl Nutrition for hooking me up. They sent me their training stack which includes Reload (nitric oxide/creatine/glutamine), Reactor N.O. (akg/okg/gkg complex), and Rush (thermo energizer/cellular support). I can already say one major thing I like about this stack is that it doesnt involve me taking a million pills a day, or peaking like other supplements, that can get tiring.

Training today was great. I woke up went to the gym to teach a few privates then headed to Club USA (the gym I lift at). I took the reload powder mixed with water and the RUSH pills for the first time. One scoop is all you need in 16oz of water. I can honestly say it gave me a huge boost of energy in about 20 mins. By the time I pulled up to the gym I was ready to get my 20 min warm up run and then do my leg work out for the day.

I went to Gumm MMA a few hours later for our usual trining session. MMA and Grappling class followed by and hour of Muay Thai. Chase Hackett has a big fight coming up so I spent alot of time rolling with him and sparring. He is fighting a southpaw and im one of the only leftys in the gym. We went round after round and I felt great today. I cant wait to get a fight lined up. I will have some pictures to post up tomorrow of our training session and hopefully some videos if I can figure it out. Chase looks better than ever and definetly ready to steal all the hype from his opponent. Dont forget to wish him luck on here.

I have to get to bed so I can get up early and run Red Rocks amphitheatre. Its a serious cardio workout and 1 of the only reasons worth living in Colorado…Altitude!! Ill be posting more pictures and blogs of my current training. Aug 29th I will be competing in the Colorado Open Grappling tournament. Its my first tournament in a few years. Well im out of here, Thank You MTX as always and check out www.brawlnutrition.com

Back In Phoenix to Help Efrain Escudero

Posted by Edgar Garcia On August - 13 - 2009

I have been back in Phoenix for 2 weeks now. I am here to help Efrain Escudero train for his fight against Cole Miller Sept. 19 at UFC 103. It has been an interesting trip so far. On the way up from Yuma my friend’s car broke down and it had to be towed the last 40 miles. When we got to the fighter house, the AC was broken (still hasn’t been fixed yet). It gets up to 100 degrees in the bedrooms at night….GOOD TIMES!
Besides the miserable heat, training has been great. I am helping Efrain with his stand up and grappling. He has a great muay thai and boxing coach that holds mitts for him. Efrain brought in some guys from Chicago, Mark Vujovic who is amazing with jiu jitsu and Matt Collum is so so in wrestling (jk Matt is a National Champion wrestler). We have been training at Southwest MMA, GCU wrestling and The Lab with Ben Henderson.

I do not have a date or an opponent yet for my next fight, but I am eager to get back in there!

training camp…

Posted by benson henderson On August - 5 - 2009

training camp has been going really well and by that i mean i’m all beat-up and sore as all heck but you pay the piper now then come fight time it’s smoother sailing with a nice picture of you with your hand raised with the referee after your fight, ;-) …i gotta say a HUGE thanks to all the guys from SOUTHWEST MMA, santino defranco’s gym and all his guys down there, danny martinez, efrain escudero, ryan kelly, and seth (there’s no way i’m gonna spell your last name correctly), they’ve been coming up to my gym helping me get ready for this next dance against cerrone, it actually works out pretty well timing wise because efrain has a fight two weeks after mine so we’ve been able to work together quite a bit…for this fight i’m also working with a new muay thai coach, rob monroe, and he has been absolutely phenomenal…i’m just really stoked for this fight and everything has been going really well for me so then i get even more excited…gonna be a great night sept. 2nd…
